I booked superior king room with balcony and good amenities plus the colonial style of Luang Prabang which turned out to be a functional room. Location: the hotel was short walk to the Nam Khan river in the quiet part of town as well as the main attractions...
The staff were pushy, didn't expect that coming.

Review of The Apsara in Luang Prabang
I had a wonderful stay at the Apsara! the beds were super comfy, and each room was brand-new, equipped with a safe box, central heating, and a work desk for convenience. the breakfast was truly delicious, featuring a variety of homemade jams, and all the food was just delightful. Plus, the location was fantastic, with a museum and the main street just a short walk from the hotel. it was a great experience!

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great position across from the river but right behind the Main Street.
The Internet was too slow and needs an upgrade which I think is in the process off happening?

Beautiful room very near town but in the quiet area. My second floor Patio which was nice for relaxing over looked a small river that feeds into the Mekong. Bed was great, huge shower with great water pressure. I enjoyed one of my better meals on my 15 day trip with 4 other newly formed friends that I had met on the 2 day slow boat down the Mekong. All the wine, pre dinner apps, and meals were incredible and highly suggest eating here as well. The included breakfast was a wonderful way to start the day. I will miss those omelets.
Hard to fault the hotel. The first night the ac was not working quite well but after notifying the front desk that was taken care of within an hour.

Rooms are spacious, with a shared balcony on the second floor. Restaurant serves nice food, staff is attentive. Manager offered a ride to the post office. Standard room is charming, with a unique Chinese shophouse vibe. Dinner on the terrace with great service and delicious food.

The location is very convenient to the main attractions of L-P, and my superior room with river view was very romantic. The room was large and the furniture of Lao style was attractive.
The building common areas need upgrading and more attention to cleanliness:in my room all the edges of the wooden floor to the wall were dirty and not cleaned for a long time! Breakfast needs also upgrading in quality and quantity (the "juice" was something artificial, the cheese in the omelette inedible, --the bread was good!) I did not try the restaurant because it was western food. The good thing is that the Tamarind restaurant and culinary school next door was fantastic and very inexpensive!

I liked everything about the Apsara. It has a great location, a very nice lobby/restaurant area, and my room was big and comfortable. The staff was terrific and really went out of their way to help the guests have a great time. Breakfast was very good and they lend you a bicycle to ride around lp.
Internet service was great when it worked, which was about 70% of the time, but I think that it is the same for all hotels since there is only one service provider. The ac took a little while to get going but then it worked great. No TVs in the hotel...which can also be considered a good thing.

The Apsara exceeded all my expectations! The location was ideal, situated between stunning cultural landmarks and with a breathtaking view of the river from my private balcony. The room was spacious and had all the necessary amenities, including a safe. The hotel's laundry service was a convenient bonus. The included breakfast offered a variety of delicious options, and the absence of a self-service buffet made the experience even more enjoyable. The complimentary bicycles were a fantastic way to explore the flat terrain of the city. The hotel's tours, such as the river cruise and boat trip to the Buddha Caves, were both affordable and unforgettable. The staff were friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us, even serving a delicious dinner when we arrived late. The authentic decor added to the overall charm of the hotel, and the strong WiFi was a pleasant surprise. The absence of a TV was a refreshing change. The in-house restaurant served exceptional food, and there were also top-notch dining options in walking distance. The interior design was tasteful, the bed was large and comfortable, and the breakfast provided a great start to each day. The location was unbeatable, with river views and nearby restaurants and cafes. Considering all of these factors, the value for money at The Apsara was unmatched. This boutique hotel was definitely one of the best I've stayed at.

The location to the Old Town and its activities and restaurants was excellent. Our room was nicely decorated and good-sized. The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good but pricey.
Our sheets remained unchanged for our 5-night stay and the pillows offered no support whatsoever. We had to contend with mosquitoes in the room daily. This is not what one expects from a place with a reputation as an upscale guesthouse. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Better value elsewhere.

Staff are very professional. Always ready to help guests. My booking had gone astray which included my request for an airport pickup. Mangement apologised sincerely and offered a free Saturday night dinner as compensation. As I was already booked in to another restaurant for dinner, I exchanged Saturday night dinner for a free Sunday lunch, late checkout and a free airport transfer. Excellent result. I didn't suffer as a result of the booking going astray as I was given the room I wanted at the same price as when I booked online.
